The Simplest Cleaning Tips For Carpet Pet Stain Removal

Sometimes all it takes is just a simple journey from the living room to the kitchen shelf to be on top of pet stain removal on carpets and learning about cleaning tips for problems like these can save you a lot of money.

First, whenever your pet has soiled your carpet or urinated on it, do not panic and call the professionals right away, you can just do it yourself in a few minutes, easily and without even costing you a single penny.

It is important to know that one should react quickly to remove pet stains on carpets, cleaning it quickly is the best way to deal with it, rather than wait for someone else to do it for you, which could sometimes may take it's toll by making its permanent mark as a nasty stain, discolor the carpet or even leave pet stain odors in the carpet.

But here is a basic step to do to address the pet stain right away.

Remove traces of liquid stain in the carpet by using a dry terry cloth to absorb any liquid residue.

Follow this up by removing any traces of debris carefully by not rubbing it into the carpeting to avoid the debris from causing more stains to the carpet fabric.

Then spray the stained area with a 50/50 solution of water and vinegar, then later blot the stain using a dry terry cloth.

The process can be repeated if necessary since it will not damage the carpet.

If the vinegar/water solution is not effective, simply a c couple of teaspoons of baking soda to the mixture and apply to the stained area.

This is so since the baking soda will chemically react with the vinegar solution that will cause the stain to reactivate and be absorbed with the baking soda added to the cleaning solution.

When you have a pet in your home, you will always have to be ready to always attend to their needs, as well as when nature calls, and here is a checklist of household items you need for instances like these.

Dry and clean terry cloths for immediate blotting of stains, white vinegar, absorbent sponges, mild detergents, spray bottle for your homemade cleaning solutions and baking soda.

Although ammonia is also a good cleaning agent for carpets, but using it especially with pets inside the home will only cause you more headaches since animals mistake ammonia with the smell of urine, which in turn, will cause pets to urinate on the area where ammonia was applied since they will be associating it with a place to urinate on.

This is a natural occurrence for pets, especially dogs, who usually find a common place to urinate on, especially in an area where they smell urine.

After cleaning the stained area with the home made cleaning solution and an odor of the animal stain is left on the carpet, try to remedy the situation by sprinkling dry baking soda on the affected area and let it stand for 15 minutes.

After doing so, vacuum the powdered baking soda from the carpet.

You can also use this home made carpet freshener to freshen the smell of the carpet.

Combine 2 table spoons of corn starch,  1/2 cup of perfumed talcum powder and 1/2 cup of baking soda, mix it thoroughly and sprinkle over the affected area of the carpet.  Let it stand for 10 to 20 minutes before vacuuming the powder.

These are basic common cleaning tips for carpet pet stain removal that may save you money, so when you are faced with this situation again, do not panic but make that trip to your homemade arsenal for pet stain and odor removal.
