There are many advertised commercial solutions and services that in the market for carpet cleaning, you may want to try some that can just be found in your work closet or even your kitchen shelf for simple jobs that do not require you to shell out money for professional service.

Surprisingly, many of the items mentioned above can be found in your kitchen, which are your most valuable tools that could help you with your home made carpet cleaning supplies.

A fresh smelling carpet with a good carpet freshener can not only give you a positive disposition, better yet, one that would provide you with a good alternative from your home arsenal.

Combine 2 table spoons of corn starch with 1/4 cup perfumed talcum powder and 1/2 cup of baking soda and sprinkle it on the dry carpet.

Let the powdered mixture stand for 15 minutes, before vacuuming it up, leaving your carpet smelling clean and fresh.

For that stinky pet urine, dab the contaminated area with a towel, then wash it with the suds of a liquid dish detergent, rinsing it with 1/2 cup vinegar diluted in a quart of warm water.

Do not use ammonia to clean the carpet or bleach solutions. Ammonia will attract pets to continue staining the carpet since it may associate the smell of ammonia with urine, while bleach solutions could discolor the carpet.
